The Eagles defined a particular strain of California rock in the 1970s, and this twelve-track collection revisits that catalog one piano arrangement at a time.

Hotel California is the natural centerpiece of the album, and its arrangement takes the most considered approach of any track here — the guitar melody that opens the original is worked out note for note on the keys, with the classical training behind the arrangement showing in how carefully each phrase is shaped. New Kid in Town sits at the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of approach — smooth, unhurried, and closer to a lounge-style reading that lets the song's chord progression breathe without drawing too much attention to the arrangement itself.

Desperado and Wasted Time are the most naturally piano-suited songs in the collection, both ballads that were already sparse in their original recordings and ask very little of the arrangement to hold up on a single instrument. Tequila Sunrise, Peaceful Easy Feeling, and Take It Easy fall into similar territory — slower tempos, simple harmonic movement, and melodies that carry cleanly without the country-rock production behind them.

One of These Nights, Witchy Woman, and Take It to the Limit brought considerably more energy in their original form, and all three are brought down to a more measured pace here. Love Will Keep Us Alive and No More Cloudy Days close the album quietly, both sitting comfortably within the overall tone of the collection without demanding anything from the listener.
