Description
Nineteen tracks make up this set, drawing from across the Resident Evil series to trace its evolving musical identity from survival-horror dread to more cinematic scoring.
Marilyn Manson's take on the original "Resident Evil (2002) Main Theme" opens things with an industrial edge that set the tone for the franchise's early years. "Ada's Theme" and "Sherry's Theme" bring a more melodic, character-driven quality to the collection, standing apart from the game's tenser cues. "Piano Roll (Berceuse)" offers one of the set's most delicate, unsettling moments, its lullaby form twisted just enough to feel wrong. "Through the Darkness," the most recent addition from Resident Evil Requiem, closes the collection on a note that shows how far the series' sound has evolved.
A great pick for fans of the series, or anyone drawn to game scores built around sustained atmosphere.
